DeMarcus Cousins and Team USA Win Gold Medal at 2016 Olympics

Boogie, who won a FIBA gold medal in 2015, can now add an olympic gold medal to his collection.

DMC and Team USA cruised past Serbia in a 96-66 rout in the gold medal game to cap off the 2016 Olympics. Boog finished with 13 points and a game-high 15 rebounds in the final game. During the tournament, DMC averaged 9.1 points and 5.8 rebounds while shooting over 60% from the field.

“It’s an incredible feeling,” he said. “It’s all worth it in the end. All the B.S., everything we went through, everybody kind of went through their own type of adversity. We all overcame it. This is the best feeling ever. Honestly, it’s the best feeling ever.”

DMC was 3-for-5 from the field and 7-for-9 at the line. Six of his rebounds came on the offensive end, and he also had two assists and two steals.

“We were a confident group,” Cousins said. “We had some rough patches in the beginning of the tournament. We overcame it. We corrected our mistakes. We bettered ourselves from our mistakes. We came together as a team.”
